The following is a list of the collaborators:
John Billimack: John is a second year student in the Public History graduate program. He has had an interest in the Civil War for several years, and also presented on the Vicksburg Campaign at the Annual Conference on Illinois History in the fall of his collegiate senior year. He is also interested in how the Civil War shaped the country’s culture, economics and international standing after the war.
Julia Grigsby: Julia earned her Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Illinois at Springfield. She is currently a second year graduate student with a concentration in Public History.
Beth Kruse: Beth is a second year American History Graduate student interested in Civil War studies. Her interest in the Civil War started in the early 1980’s with her first trip to Shiloh Battlefield. Over the years she has visited many Civil War Battlefields and museums as a hobby. Recently, she has decided to become a professional historian with the intention of focusing on studies of Civil War Military Prisons. Beth’s focus of study consists of reexamining Civil War POW narratives using the psychological theories of Philip Zimbardo and Stanley Milgram to understand how camp commanders and guards abused POW's.
